JAMES CAGNEY REVIEWS DRIFT
Here’s an excerpt:

The beauty of King’s poetry here is how it identifies the relationships and desires that connect all of us…King lyrically finds a way to allow the reader to live the sentiment through him.

TRUTH THOMAS REVIEWS DRIFT
This is a very first review of my book DRIFT by Truth Thomas. Here’s an excerpt:

Alan King’s literary talent is tall like the sky, expansive as the earth, and stirring as a John Coltrane solo.  In Drift, his impressive debut work, he makes it clear that he is both a poet who reports, and a reporter with poetic gifts akin to gold.  Indeed, like the great Walt Whitman[1], who wrote over a century before him, King is a formally trained journalist (a former staff writer for The Afro-American Newspaper[2]), and a bard with some serious poetic chops.
