The Readings by authors from the Little Patuxent Review event on Saturday at The Writer’s Center was fun! I had a great time reading, listening to the other readers, and recording the event for The Little Patuxent Review! You can check out the YouTube playlist of the recording below.
That happened last weekend. My wife and I took our daughter and niece to the amusement park. I might tell that story another time. I posted photos from that day on my social media platforms. Now, here’s the video from that trip.
Yesterday, Melanie Hatter and Derrick Weston Brown launched their books with a reading at East City Bookshop. Melanie is the author of Malawi’s Sisters and Derrick is the author of On All Fronts, which is part of the Flood Gates Poetry Series Vol. 5 by Upper Rubber Boot Press. I’m glad I was able to […]
What a lineup last night at the American Poetry Museum! Reuben Jackson, Quique Aviles, Yao Glover, Brandon D. Johnson, Naomi Ayala, and Samuel Miranda. Everyone did the damn thing! Congrats, again, Sami! Shouts to Jose R. Ballesteros, who published WE IS! If you missed the event or aren’t familiar with Sami’s work, no worries. Yo boy, WAWK Radio, was in the house. Check […]
According to George Bernard Shaw, “A happy family is but an earlier heaven.” Shaw’s sentiments manifested themselves this past weekend, when Tosin’s cousins and their children vacationed in the DMV from Nigeria. They used the opportunity to visit Rebecca’s mom, Tosin’s aunt, who lives and works in Maryland. We were glad to link up. Our […]

During my tenure, I had a great time visiting Howard County schools and sharing my love of poetry with the students. Those visits gave me something else to look forward to on my Friday mornings. I’m honored […]
This is a short I shot and edited while at a birthday party a few weeks ago. My daughter was part of an elite team sent to retrieve the missing treasure.
I’m coming back from our family trip to California to help my wife’s “Granny” (foster mom) celebrate her 80th birthday. Our trip took us from San Francisco to Los Angeles to Santa Monica, then back to Los Angeles. I made this video of Jaz’s first time at Santa Monica Beach.

I’m so grateful to College of Southern Maryland for this opportunity. I just got the recording of my reading. Their Connections reading series previously hosted poets including Frank X. Walker and Tim Seibles. If you want to digest this reading in small chunks, watch the clips on YouTube.
