Two years ago, I became an organ donor when my wife lost kidney function because of lupus. This video was inspired by the poem I wrote about our experience before our surgeries. I wrote another poem while recovering in my hospital room. This video is part 1 of the journey.

Three months ago, I posted the poem, “The Light Inside,” which was inspired by my daughter, Jazmyn King. I wrote that poem while my wife and I awaited her arrival. She’s six weeks outside of the womb, now! Here’s the video for the poem:
