I’m a different poet now than I was when I wrote DRIFT. I wasn’t a father at the time and I’d written most of the poems before meeting my wife.
I was a single guy that wanted to be in a long-term relationship. Maybe that’s why there’s a sense of longing that permeates that collection. In most of the poems, I’m reliving a previous relationship. Read the rest at Free Black Space.
